Simplifying Search Engine Optimisation

I have been working in the SEO industry for almost 5 years now. To some I ‘m just a young pup, but I must say the results we get from our SEO campaigns speak for themselves.

When you work in this field of SEO you tend to network with other SEO professionals and stay tuned with the latest Search Engine Optimisation tides or updates from Google. In addition, you interact with other SEO experts in the newsgroups and websites.

I would like to state my concern with the amount of complexity added to the topic of SEO. About 80% of information on SEO out there’s too deep and intricate, with an awful lot of opinions.

Like any technology or methodology, folks are looking for usability. They desire something which makes a difference, creates an effect or works. This same concept applies to SEO.

Using a technology needs sticking with the basics of that technology. If you sift through the thousands of available “sources” you can usually locate the real source, and that is the information and process one should use when working out how to go about it. That is the ideal way to learn and apply anything.

I find it amazing how some SEO pros throw out their views on their high-powered websites, only to perplex another thousand Search Engine Optimisation experts.

It’s laughable to watch, and it goes like this:

SEO Pro Joe, has to get “green carrots” on page 1 of Google for a client.

He is working on it for months, bookmarking, social networks, links etc.

After 2-3 months he takes a step back and looks at his visitor and keyword stats. He simply isn’t getting the results, not much change and his customer is beginning to question.

Suddenly he understands that things may be boosted by a cool video on YouTube up and get’s this created an on-line.

The next week “green carrots” is on page 1! It’s amazing, it worked and the customer is all joyful.

Oops. This strikes him as strange and it seems to break everything he learned in Search Engine Optimisation.

What occurs next is interesting. The SEO pro decides this is experience and useful advice. He has merely seen the following new search rule in play, which should be shared with anyone doing SEO:

“Google is no more giving any value to keyword density. This plays no part in SEO.”

He is extremely sure of his findings and due to his experience, writes a nice 1000 word post about it. He even makes a jab at Google about no mentioning it. Now he’s kudos for finding this out before anyone else.

This is exceptionally frustrating for even old school SEO professionals or anyone who wants to learn the subject of SEO. And is because SEO company Cornwall of this short sightedness the internet is full of numerous pages about Search Engine Optimisation which would be better found in the garbage.

Now do not get me wrong, I ‘m not talking about the many very useful articles, digests and tutorials out there which can significantly assist a SEO expert to get his job done quicker. I ‘m talking about those people who create their own interpretations of what is a rational and incredibly accurate technology – SEO.
